Thousands of people are being urged to get vaccinations after a report of Hepatitis A in a worker at a Red Robin restaurant in Springfield. Dr. Ed Conrad of Joplin tells News Talk KZRG Hep A can spread quickly.
"If someone had it either as a carrier, or even if they had an infection they were resolving, if they were putting out the salad bar or cooking, that's going to spread to everybody, and it will spread very quickly."
Hepatitis A usually causes flu-like symptoms, but can also cause liver failure in some cases. The restaurant says anyone who ate there between May 8th and May 16th could be infected.
