Two people were killed in what Joplin police are saying is a likely drunk-driving one-vehicle crash that happened at 1:15am Saturday morning. According to Corporal Brian Henderson, the driver of the car was going around a curve at G street and St. Louis too fast, losing control of the vehicle, which went off the road and overturned. Two people were thrown from the vehicle and killed; a third passenger was wearing his seatbelt; he sustained moderate injuries. The driver has been arrested for involuntary manslaughter and 2nd degree assault; toxicology results are still out, but drunk driving charges could also come soon. Joplin Police currently aren't releasing the victims' names.
