IRS Causing Problems for Joplin Doctor
A Joplin doctor is having some trouble with the IRS. Dr. Ed Conrad tells News Talk KZRG he's suspicious about two sudden audits from the IRS over his practice's use of electronic medical records.
"I can't help but feel that it fits right in with the IRS stuff we've been hearing. That they're attacking people that don't vote in their direction."
At issue is whether or not the records are filled out correctly; and $12,000 in government incentives for using the electronic method are now being held up.
"They had paid us $18,000 the year prior, but then they came back and said they don't feel we had adequately answered all of their questions so now they want the money back. This year's $12,000 payment has been approved, but is also being held up."
When asked if he knows for sure that the audits are politically motivated, he said he had "no idea."
