The US Bureau of Labor Statistics released the latest unemployment numbers today (Friday), clocking in at 7.6%, or nearly 12-million Americans, looking for work. Missouri US Congressman Billy Long says he's not very surprised, and he blames the federal healthcare law.
"It's very unfortunate yet understandable. I just completed a two-day manufacturing tour that included the Joplin area, and many of these manufacturers are hesitant to hire because they don't know what'll happen with Obamacare. They have no clue what they'll have to spend for health insurance, so to have a downtick in employment is completely understandable."
The good news is that the US Economy did add 175,000 jobs in May.
