One of four defendants accused of killing a Pittsburg man at his home last October was sentenced Wednesday. 22-year-old Rickey Smith of Joplin was sentenced to 26 years and ten months for second degree intentional murder, aggravated robbery and burglary and conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary. Smith admitted being the triggerman who killed 21-year-old Ryan Bailey on October 6th of last year. Two other co-defendants are serving 172 month sentences, while 28-year-old Nathan Whitney is still awaiting extradition from Missouri to Kansas for his trial.
