Someone who tried to run down two Joplin police officers is in the hospital after they shot him early Sunday morning. According to Joplin Police Lt. Matt Stewart, it all started with a traffic stop near 36th and Finley at 1:10am. According to police, the driver of the car, 32-year-old Brandon Knoderer of Joplin wouldn't cooperate with officers, instead driving away into a nearby parking lot, then turning around and driving right at two officers. They both opened fire, but he was still able to get away to a family member's home on South Ferguson before being arrested and taken to the hospital, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. The officers who opened fire have not been identified by police; they're now on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
