Webb City Police are looking for an Oronogo man who tried to pass a forged check Friday afternoon (1/12). Around 1:20pm, Police were called to the Pinnacle Bank on South Madison. When Police arrived, the suspect, 26-year-old Cody Romines of Oronogo, took off.
“Romines fled the area in a vehicle and then crashed that vehicle on Zora just east of the railroad tracks. After the crash, he fled on foot.”
Webb City Police Chief Don Melton tells News Talk KZRG Romines was last seen in the Joplin/Webb City Industrial Park…wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. These charges against Romines are pending: felony forgery, driving while suspended, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash and felony resisting arrest by flight. Four people inside the getaway car were arrested: a 20-year-old white male from Kimberling City for felony receiving stolen property; a 25-year-old white male from Warsaw for felony felon in possession of a firearm and felony receiving stolen property (that firearm); a 34-year-old white female from Springfield for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; and a 25-year-old white female from Springfield for possession of drug paraphernalia, a felony warrant from Jasper County for possession of amphetamine, another felony warrant from Jasper County for possessing a controlled substance-amphetamine, a misdemeanor warrant from McDonald County for credit card fraud and a city ordinance from Joplin for possessing drug paraphernalia.
Names of those arrested have not been released pending formal charges.
